Legal foundations to uphold inclusion, choice, and confidence in digital and data economies.
Te Kauhanganui Tātai Ture―Faculty of Law at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, together with Privacy Foundation New Zealand, Payments NZ and the Banking and Financial Services Law Association are delighted to invite you to attend a public lecture by Dr Scott Farrell.
About Consumer Data Right:
Consumer Data Right (CDR) is a transformative initiative, to be implemented in the New Zealand banking sector, that may foster greater consumer choice and stimulate competitive innovation in the marketplace.
In this lecture, Dr Farrell will explain how the legal foundations of a CDR framework are critical to the performance of its functions for customers, banks, fintech companies and other market participants. He will refer to the frameworks established in Australia and the United Kingdom, what has and hasn’t worked so far in those countries, and what New Zealand might take from that experience.
